Auchentoshan Visitor Centre

Per requests by the Beam Suntory, this project aimed to increase the potential of the Auchesntoshan distillery, as with no visitor centre and tours only available through prior booking, the distillery failed to capture its potential in the market. To welcome visitors, a warm atmosphere Visitor Centre was created with a waiting area and a shop, as well as an interactive display of the distillery’s history. The project required extensive remodelling of the entrance to transform it into a distinct public/ private access. Also, the 18th century building was opened up into a modern contemporary space. The design of the project used a fabric first approach as well as being a Passive design with flood resilient measures.
