Kingspan Insulation has launched AlphaCore Pad, an A2-s1,d0 rated rainscreen insulation board with a hydrophobic core which achieves a thermal conductivity of just 0.020 W/mK.
Suitable for use behind rainscreen facades on all buildings, regardless of building type, height, construction and location – AlphaCore Pad can provide a thinner alternative to conventional Euroclass A and A2-s1,d0 rated insulation products. This opens up new design freedom for architects, often allowing additional internal space to be realised within a given footprint. At the same time, its excellent thermal performance supports the creation of buildings that are both energy efficient and comfortable to live and work in.
AlphaCore Pad features a monolithicmicroporous silica core which is sewn into glass fibre fabric. This innovative, hydrophobic core delivers enhanced resilience in this challenging application.
The product’s Euroclass A2-s1,d0 rating has been rigorously assessed under Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance (AVCP) System 1 for EN 13501-1 Reaction to Fire. The insulation boards are manufactured to the highest standards under a management system certified to ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001: 2018 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) and ISO 50001: 2018 (Energy Management System).
